in the gateway computer where there is a

Authorisation is
required to Connect and Disconnect the
Internet connection remotely from the
client computer. Password can be set
on the server which should be used by
Connect and Shar client software on

and Disconnect can be the same or different.
Option to restrict
only a few client computers to access
Connect and Shar server. If you are
on a broadband connection then it is
advisable to add the IP addresses of
your client computers here. This will
prevent un-authorised access to your
machine.

Monitors
the gateway computer's Internet Connection
- Notifies Online/Offline status by
way of pop-up animation as in MSN-Instant
Messenger. Whenever the gateway computer
goes online or offline, this client
will alert the user with a cute little
window that pops-up from the system
tray. Shows Online with Connection name,
Offline or dialing in progress and other
related messages.
In addition to the
pop-up animation, Connect and Shar client
resides in the Windows system tray and
indicates the status of connection -
Offline, in-progress, Online - by way
of color icons. Whenever any client
initiates the Internet connection, or
whenever Internet connection on the
gateway computer is activated or disconnected,
the Connect and Shar icon in the windows
system tray gets activated to show the
status of the connection. Red color
icon indicates Offline, Yellow color
indicates in-progress, Green color icon
indicates an Online connection.
Can dial the modem
on the gateway computer. This is done
through the Dial-up Networking (DUN)
connections available on the gateway
computer. From the client computer,
users can see the list of available
DUN connections on the gateway computer.
This enables the client computer user
to remotely dial and establish the Internet
connection on the gateway computer and
also disconnect the Internet connection.
A local password is needed to Dial or
Disconnect the Internet connection.
This password is set in the Connect
and Shar Server in the gateway computer.

depends on the client licenses of Connect
and Shar. Available in 1, 3, 5, 10 and 20
client licenses. When you buy a 5 client license
only 5 client computers can enjoy the functions
of Connect and Shar.
